Chuck Satterlee
Comics Biography
Chuck Satterlee has worked on different comic books as a writer/creator or work for hire, for decades. The past decade or so, he has built a business and worked to raise his son, a college football player now. His first series, AGONY ACRES came out in 1995. George Perez was so impressed; he inked the covers to lend his name. From 2006-2011, he created several series, at numerous publishers, and was hired to adapt several novels for comics. He created and wrote OF BITTER SOULS with legendary Batman artist, Norm Breyfogle, which ran for nine issues and spawned two trade paperbacks. (He oversaw a successful Kickstarter for an OBS Omnibus in '22 that raised over 22K) Chuck created & wrote SMOKE & MIRROR, leading to one trade paperback. With Phil Hester, Chuck co-created and co-wrote the series, THIRTEEN STEPS (co-created by Kevin Mellon) at Desperado. Additionally, Chuck adapted Joe DeVito’s KONG: KING OF SKULL ISLAND for comics (Currently being developed for TV at Disney+). He adapted Joe Nasise’s HERETIC: THE TEMPLAR CHRONICLES and the lesser known novel, THE LEXIAN CHRONICLES. In 2024, a series he co-created & co-wrote, WORKING CLASS WIZARDS, was published at Band of Bards. Chuck is a co-founder of the new line of Defective Comix' anthologies, the first of which will be POTS & PANELS: A Comic Cook Book Anthology, which will launch in October 2024. 2025 will see six more series at various publishers.
